Faculty
Kerrie Parker, Owner/Director, has been dancing since the age of five. She began with after-school programs and local studios just like Calera Dance. She expanded her knowledge at Exclusively Ballet & Dance. Here, she became a well-rounded dancer by studying all forms of dance, while specializing in ballet under the direction of Monica Barnett Smith. Kerrie competed with the advanced ballet and jazz groups, winning several awards and scholarships. She went on to teach at Exclusively Ballet for a few years before pursuing her education degree. Kerrie also has experience with high school dance team and majorette, including being captain, for 3 years. Kerrie is a graduate of the University of Montevallo, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. This knowledge of child growth and development and best practices in education combined with a solid ballet foundation has led her artistic direction of the studio. Kerrie, her husband Will, and their sons, Sam & Liam live in Wilsonville.

Heather Edwards, Administrative Assistant, grew up in Trussville, Alabama, where she attended Ms. Beverly’s School of Dance.
She has lived and worked in Shelby County for over 20 years. She and her husband, Tip, have three daughters, all of whom began dancing at CDA. Madison, Bella, and Emmie all danced or are still dancing at Calera High School. Madison went on to dance as a Lionette for The University of North Alabama and continues to choreograph for Calera Middle and High School dance lines. I think we can all agree that this qualifies her as a "dance mom".
Heather and her family have 2 dogs, 9 cats, 1 rabbit, and more chickens than they can count!
In her spare time, she enjoys sleeping late, being outdoors, and traveling with her family.
